STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT IN INDIA METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT EXAMINATION

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department (IMD), Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post, in the Level 6 of the Pay Matrix as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the IMD and as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IMD and SSC

Eligibility criteria for SSC Scientific Assistant in IMD 2022 : 
Nationality/Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a  person  of  Indian  origin  who  has  migrated  from  Pakistan,  Burma,  Sri  Lanka, East  African  Countries  of  Kenya,  Uganda,  the  United  Republic  of  Tanzania  (Formerly  Tanganyika  and  Zanzibar),  Zambia,  Malawi,  Zaire,  Ethiopia  and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limit SSC Scientific Assistant in IMD 2022 will be reckoned as on 18th October, 2022: Not exceeding 30 years as on 18.10.2022 ( Candidate must have been born not earlier than 19-10-1992 and not later than 17-10-2004.)

Essential Qualifications SSC Scientific Assistant in IMD 2022 as on 18th October, 2022
Bachelors Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subject)/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Computer Applications OR Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Institution/University or equivalent. 

NOTE-I The qualifying Degree or diploma referred above should be in First Class (60% marks) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale.

NOTE-II The qualifying Degree or Diploma referred above must be of three (3) years duration after (10+2) examination.

NOTE-III The applicant must have passed 10+2 Examination from a Recognized Board or equivalent in Science with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

NOTE-IV: As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10.06.2015 published in Gazette of India, all the degrees/ diplomas/ certificates including technical education degrees/ diplomas awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under

Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission.

NOTE-V: Candidates who have not acquired/will not acquire the educational qualification as on the closing date of receipt of application will not be eligible and need not apply.

NOTE-VI: Ex-Serviceman who have done various courses from Armed Forces which are certified by competent Authority that they are equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subject)/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications OR Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering are eligible to appear in the Examination.

The qualifying Degree or Diploma in the listed disciplines must be of
three years duration after 10+2 Examination.

SSC Scientific Assistant in IMD 2022 Application Fee & Mode of Payment: Rs. 100 (One hundred only)
Candidate may note that only online applications will be accepted at www.ssconline.nic.in.
All Women candidates and candidates  belonging  to  Scheduled  Caste,  Scheduled  Tribe, Physically  Handicapped,  and  Ex-Servicemen  eligible  for  reservation  are  exempted  from paying application fee, as per extant government orders. 

Payment can be done through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking.

Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card.
